I REALLY need help!!!!!!!!!!?

ok so i met this guy and we really hit it off. we text and talk on the phone constantly and a few days ago he came and visited me at an event i was at. He is flirty, but we have only hugged. By the things he says and the way he acts i figured he liked me. But just a few days ago i found out he had a gf. i was blind sighted. i was angry but he said we can still be friends. I didnt talk to him for a few days and then finally i responded to him. again he started flirting again and i guess i completely forgot about the gf. He offered to go to my cheer banquet with me without me having to ask. I was so excited and bought a pretty dress. this was about a week ago. He texted me last night and said im not going and that was it. havent heard from him since. wuts going on
